Vicki Jackson, Beloit 5th grade elementary teacher has been named as one of four teachers to receive a NAITCO scholarship to attend the National Agriculture In The Classroom Summer Conference in Orlando, Florida this summer. Jackson is sponsored by Kansas Wheat.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to attend the NAITCO conference this summer” said Jackson. “I love the opportunity to uncover more ways to educate our kids and get them excited in the classroom. I am really looking forward to going to Orlando.”
The scholarship is provided through the Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom(KFAC) Winners applied on Feb.1 and were due by March 15, with winners being announced April 1st.
The KFAC is a statewide educational program providing resources, training and support to schools, educators and volunteers so that they can meaningfully connect children to agriculture. This is made possible through AITC designed lessons and resources, educator training workshops, newsletters, magazines, teacher awards and volunteer projects and initiatives. The program is funded through donations, as the KFAC is a 501 c3 charitable organization.
